The lighting of the Olympic flame, signifying the start of the games, is
preceded several months before by the lighting of the torch in Olympia, Greece.
The Olympic Torch Relay follows with the passing of the torch from runner to
runner until it reaches the host city. Here, the games are officially started
with the lighting of the cauldron visible above the stadium.
The torch relay is
a symbol of passing on something vital. When you become a Christian and grow in
God’s Word, you too become a torch bearer, charged with the awesome
responsibility of passing the light of Christ on to others. If you follow God’s
command in Matthew 5:16, to “let your light… shine before men…,” then you will
“Pass the Torch” of faith on to those who live in spiritual darkness.
Looking forward to a great summer,
Jeff Rolen

Hey!!! We are planning a great week of camp for all you guys and girls. We will
have many wild events where you can test
your abilities among all of the other Olympians. Showcase your talents in Water
Olympics, competing for the best dive or
swimming in the freestyle race. Plummet down the two 350 foot zip lines or
catapult off of the BLOB! Spend time in God’s
Word, learning what it really means to be a torch bearer. Join us for an amazing
week this summer, and see for yourself
what the 2008 Bethel Olympics are all about!

Ages 10-13
We have some special events planned for you! This will be a summer for the
record books! Compete in the 2008 Bethel
Summer Olympics for the top position on the podium. Build friendships while
competing in Olympic events, waterfront
adventure elements, and evening activities. And of course, what is an Olympian
without great meals to keep him or her
going for the gold? You will also be learning what God’s word says about
becoming a torch bearer. Looking forward to
seeing you compete in our Summer 08 Olympics!

Ages 13-19
It is that time again, every few years we get the opportunity to compete for the
gold among the
best in the world, or at least the best at camp! So prepare yourself for the
2008 Bethel Summer
Olympics. The Bethel Olympic Planning Committee will not allow us to reveal the
many
crazy events that are planned; so you will just have to come and see for
yourself! But
one thing is for sure, each one of you will be given the opportunity
to win the gold as you learn from God’s Word
how to “Pass the Torch!” We can’t wait to
see you this summer at the Bethel
Olympics!

Ages 13-19
This summer, Camp Bethel is hosting the 2008 Bethel Olympics, so
prepare yourself for an unprecedented camp packed with action,
insane fun, and rocking relationships! During this week there will be no
spectators; everyone will be an Olympian; everyone will be a winner!
Unfortunately, the Olympic Planning Committee has sworn us to
secrecy about the details, but be assured that every event will deserve
the gold! It is our prayer that when you say goodbye after the closing
ceremonies, that you will be walking closer to the Lord, strengthened
by a deeper faith, and ready to “Pass the Torch!”

Ages 13-19
Go for the gold as you experience Camp Bethel Summer Olympics,
adventure style! This week, meant for the extreme Olympian, will
test your endurance and hone your skills as you participate in
mountain biking, kayaking, white water rafting, rock climbing,
rappelling, and caving. Along with challenging your body to
endure the elements of nature, we will be challenging your
mind and heart through the study of God’s Word so that you
will become a “Torch Bearer!”

Ages 4-8
For you Junior Olympians, we have 5 days packed with
super games, crafts, wild water adventure, and play time
in the ginormous sand pile with your new friends! Not only
that, but you will get to learn some cool new songs and hear
some great Bible stories! Be ready for lots of surprises during
Bethel Olympics kid’s style!
