CAMPING SEASONS
Spring
Otherwise known as Whispering Pines, our family campground opens April 1st in time to enjoy God’s creation coming into full bloom. Wild azaleas, mountain laurel, dogwood and rhododendron are just a few of the native species of plants and flowers found in this region of the Appalachian Mountains.
Summer
During the summer, take a stroll through the 160 acres of woodlands that surround the campground, enjoy a swim in the lake, or a pleasant canoe ride. Walk over to the hollow that contains our main Camp and indulge yourself in a delicious meal served in the Mary Henry Dining Hall. On Friday nights, you can be entertained by the lighting of the campfire as fire is called down from Heaven in a re-enactment of the story of Elijah as he challenges the prophets of Baal.
Fall
It doesn’t end there. In October and November the colorful changing foliage of autumn will be a feast to your eyes. Cool nights and sunny days make this an invigorating time of the year.
