Abe Rutherford (Norton, VA; Joined in 2018)
I have known of Camp Bethel ever since I was a young child, but was never able to attend as a camper. My wife, Abbi, however, was a camper for several years and accepted Christ as her savior at Camp Bethel in June of 1997. I made the decision to apply for the Board of Directors at Camp Bethel to offer all that I can to see the further success of the camp going into the future as I felt the leading of The Lord to join. I have two children, Anna, born in 2013, and Ezra ,born in 2018. I am currently employed as Director of the City of Norton Department of Social Services and my wife and I own Elevate Salon in Norton, VA. I attend Freedom of Worship Church and serve there as Sunday School Superintendent. |

CUSTOMIZED PROGRAMS
We can design a camp or a retreat to meet your needs! We have experience in customizing programs for church groups, school groups, family reunions, and corporate outings. We can work with you and provide a complete camp, retreat, or training experience.
OVERVIEW OF FACILITIES
- 160 beautiful acres in the Appalachian Mountains
- Full size gymnasium with heat and AC for year-round comfort. Also includes a stage, cafe area, and climbing wall.
- The dining hall/multipurpose building is a beautiful climate controlled facility complete with a new commercial kitchen and a (meal) seating capacity of 280. This facility includes a premium sound system, dual projectors, a performance stage, and a grand piano by the majestic rock fireplace.
- Modernized log cabins around the property with a total twin-size bed sleeping capacity of 280
- A private "spring-fed" swimming lake with a large variety of water-sports
- Multiple sports fields
- Two outdoor basketball courts
- Two sand volleyball courts
- Three Climbing Walls, a low and a high ropes course
