INTRODUCTION TO SWIMMING
The Camp Bethel spring fed lake is a wonderful environment to learn to swim with a dedicated shallow end surrounded by a sandy beach. The introduction to swimming course is tailored for campers with little to no swim experience; who may be apprehensive about completely submerging. Instructors work closely with swimmer s to increase water confidence by guiding them through the process of basic movement in the water. The goals of this class are to teach proper breathing while swimming and recovery to a standing position from the horizontal floating position.
Skills Learned - Breath control, submerging, rhythmic breathing, floating (on front/back), recovering from floating position.
Family camp provides a fantastic opportunity for the parent and child to work together to learn the basic of swimming.
** Swimming lessons are not available during all camps.**
